I like to explore social barriers in my work; the Japanese phenomenon known as “Kawaii,” (meaning cute) has influenced my work greatly. I create different characters, some are simply cute, and others involve a twist of some sort. With these illustrations, I have used quotations from the poetry of young people that has been published online. This medium interests me because most people regard this type of poetry as invaluable or cliché, but in reality, it is the newest, most diverse and honest poetry you can find.
